Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by STRATO AG. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the hosting provider.
When you open a page, the provider automatically records server log files: the IP address of the requesting device, date and time, the file requested, the amount of data transferred, the referrer, and your browser and operating system. The site cannot be delivered without this data. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and stable operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are deleted once they are no longer needed for operation and for defending against attacks; the retention period follows the hosting provider's settings.
Analytics
This website uses Umami, a self-hosted analytics tool running on our own server in Germany. Umami sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses; an IP address is only used to derive a daily-rotating identifier that cannot be traced back, and is not stored. We record the pages visited, the referrer, device type, browser and country, plus technical events such as a form submission. No data is linked to an individual. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring reach and improving this site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
No other third-party services
The page loads no fonts from third-party servers; it uses the system fonts already on your device. There are no embedded maps, videos, social buttons or ad networks. The page loads from two sources: itself and the analytics script above. Because this stores or reads no information on your device that would require consent under § 25 TDDDG, this site shows no consent banner.
Contacting us by email
If you write to us, we process your email address and the content of your message in order to answer it. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in replying (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, where a contract or its preparation is involved, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. We delete the message once the matter is settled and no statutory retention periods apply.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), to erasure (Art. 17), to restriction of processing (Art. 18) and to data portability (Art. 20).
Objection: Where we process data on the basis of a legitimate interest — this covers the log files, the analytics and replying to messages — you may object under Art. 21 GDPR. An informal email to the address above is enough.
You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Unabhängiges Landeszentrum für Datenschutz Schleswig-Holstein (ULD).
